My First Electric Bicycle!!

Yesterday was my first day with an electric bicycle!! It is made from China but the design looks uber cool!

This I had been saving up for nearly 3 months and even bought the helmet way back with a matching goggles to go with it! :)

I had used it to travel to nearby bank to deposit a cheque and comes back in time to pay my bills at the AXS Station at Bukit Gombak MRT.

The feeling of total freedom from hard peddling is extremely refreshing! I even heard some chatters by motorcyclist on the road exclaiming in awe that "THAT IS A BICYCLE!!".

The bicycle comes with alarm system linked with motion sensors to prevent any unauthorized "touching", a wheel lock mechanism to prevent anyone from pushing the bicycle away.

I also employ an additional chain lock to deter any kinds of normal thief to have the idea of stealing it.

On top of that, I added a box behind for my "barang barang" (things) storage such as rain coat, chain lock, helmet and any valuables that I felt uncomfortable to put in the basket at the front.

The bicycle is small enough to fit the lift at my home and too heavy for any one person thief to carry it.

The battery also comes with a secure lock so that nobody can extract the batteries without my keys.

The overall feeling is still overwhelming in excitement tingling on my skin....and can't wait for another excursion with my brand new electric bicycle! :)

My next upgrade is a GPS attachment to my PSP (playstation portable) that I think can help me navigate around Singapore.

Well, I bought it in Singapore at a expensive price!

Currently there is promotion near my place for the same electric bicycle...at $850 however I think it will go down further in the future.

I live in Singapore by the way :)

Hi Simon,

Love your bike, would like to know where I can get the one similar to yours.

You mention near your place can I have the address.

Thanks and happy new year

The location is near the Bukit Gombak MRT Station at Bukit Batok West Ave 5.

The bicycle shop is opposite the gombak MRT and have to walk about 5 minutes into the shops to find it.

Ask around if you cannot find it...there's only one bicycle shop there.

The expensive place I originally bought is at King George Ave...

I am not sure if the bukit batok ones exactly the same or not...you have to double check with the shop keeper.

There is a small piece of paper at the bicycle shop that states buy one get one free...

It's buy one electric bicycle ...get one normal bicycle free.

It's SGD $850... excluding the add on stuff.

I had added new bell, rear lights, new storage box, new front basket, a new pair of glove and I went to a skateboard shop to buy a new helmet.

Juz checked out the shop at Bukit Gombak, promotion already ended! Sigh! It is selling at $850 with Alarm system. I also noticed your Electric Bike is of the brand "小刀”. According to the seller, it is a Japanese made Electric Bike. I went to the "showroom" at Tannery Lane this afternoon. It cost more than $1k, and that is the best in terms of look. Still hunting around for a nice and cheap electric bike with a budget of $550 to $750.

Hi, is yours 48v? Can it climb slopes of 30 degrees without peddling from stationary? I have a 36v model, and for slopes of 30 degrees, it cannot overcome the slope from stationary. Appreciate your advise. Thanks.
